Adidas has partnered with West since 2013, when the company signed his brand away from rival Nike. In 2016, Adidas expanded its relationship with the rapper, calling it “the most significant partnership ever created between a non-athlete and an athletic brand.”

But Adidas put the “partnership under review” in early October after he wore a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt in public. The Anti-Defamation League categorizes the phrase as a “hate slogan” used by White supremacist groups, including the Ku Klux Klan.

Recently, Ye said “I can say antisemitic s*** and Adidas cannot drop me,” during a tirade against Jews on the Drink Champs Podcast. He also threatened on Twitter to “Go death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.”

Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said Adidas’ decision is a “very positive outcome.”

“It illustrates that antisemitism is unacceptable and creates consequences. Without a doubt, Adidas has done the right thing by cutting ties with Ye after his vicious antisemitic rants,” he said in a statement. “In the end, Adidas’ action sends a powerful message that antisemitism and bigotry have no place in society.”

He added on CNN earlier Tuesday that he wish it happened sooner, but Adidas “has made a very strong statement of putting people over profits.”

Shares of Adidas (ADDDF) fell as much as 5% in Frankfurt. Adidas (ADDDF) said it will release additional information about the financial implications of dissolving its partnership with Ye in its upcoming earnings report on November 9.-_cnn

Snoop Dog Purchases DEATH ROW RECORDS From Blackstone Investment Group

LOS ANGELES — Snoop Dogg has taken over a popular record label that launched his stellar career.

The rapper-mogul acquired Death Row Records’ brand from MNRK Music Group, which is controlled by a private equity fund managed by Blackstone, the investment firm announced Wednesday. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Snoop Dogg said he’s excited about acquiring the label’s brand.

“I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value,” the 50-year-old Snoop Dogg said in a statement. “It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members. This is an extremely meaningful moment for me.”- NPR News

JNR Da Great just released a debut track, “Dream Girl Remix,” featuring Curb recording artist Larry Gordon through indie label SouthMob Records. Now available on all streaming platforms, listeners can stream the track just in time for the Valentine’s Day holiday. Listen to the track HERE and view the accompanying music video HERE.

As a special Valentine’s Day promotion, the label recruited TikTok sensation Genesis Jolie – who also appears in the music video for the track – to choreograph a special dance for a unique TikTok challenge. JNR Da Great will select one winner from the challenge. The winner will receive a dozen rose and chocolates from the label.

Initially written by JNR Da Great and produced by Nigerian producer Nathan Al, the remix was developed by JNR Da Great and Larry Gordon. Gordon provided additional production on the remix. The upbeat love song features the winning combination of JNR’s afrobeats and Gordon’s R&B grooves.

The track is about a man finding his dream girl. Upon finding the love of his life, the narrator must convince her that he has honorable intentions and that he will spend the rest of his life proving just how much he loves her. The narrator articulates his emotions with lyrics such as “Girl what’s the point in waiting/ To live life without you is a crime/ For your love girl I would chase/ When it comes to you, I don’t see straight.”

JNR Da Great described the song’s creation, explaining, “I want my music to reflect my Afropop roots blended with the urban sound from America. I am excited to work with Larry Gordon because, with the remix, he helped me fuse the two sounds to produce a track that I hope everyone will love.”

In addition to “Dream Girl Remix,” JNR has a forthcoming self-titled EP, due out June 2022.

About JNR Da Great: Born and raised in Kenya, JNR Da Great moved to the US in 2013 with his family as a teenager. He knew from an early age that he wanted to write and perform music that reflected both his African roots and influences of music from America and other countries.
